LA CROSSE, WI — Representative Tara Johnson (D-Town of Shelby) released the following statement on her recent meetings with Representative Angelito Tenorio (D-West Allis) and key stakeholders regarding bills aimed at lowering housing costs, and transitioning Wisconsin onto clean energy:

“As the lead authors on the ‘Green Energy by 2050 bill,’ Representative Tenorio and I are working to prepare this legislation for the start of the next legislative session. As the name implies, this bill will require a transition to clean energy sources by 2050. But it’s not just that. This bill will guarantee jobs in green energy sectors, invest needed dollars into the green energy transition, and support viable alternatives to fossil fuels.

We spent the day meeting with key stakeholders; from union electricians, to green energy advocacy groups, to a utility co-op powering our daily life. Each group we met with had a unique perspective, and specific concerns that we are able to learn from.
