A crypto-backed PAC is out with a new ad labeling 1st CD Dem challenger Mitchell Berman as a “woke radical activist” that “can’t be trusted.”
Wisconsin Working PAC is running the 30-second spot in the Milwaukee media market. The group, which gives a Waunakee UPS store as an address, is bankrolled by Forex Dax Inc, the U.S. holding arm of Singaporean cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com.
The group did not immediately respond to a request for more details on the ad buy.
The ad opens with images of Berman’s first television ad campaign, where he is pictured fishing on a river.

“Mitchell Berman wants you to think he’s one of us, but his record proves Berman’s a radical activist, pushing an extreme agenda,” the ad says.
The ad references a 2023 incident in which Berman was escorted out of Raymond School and it was put into a “soft lockdown.” Berman told Racine County Eye he was asked to leave the school building after stopping at the school office to ask for school board documents he’d sought via open records request.
The ad goes on to claim Berman will “back policies that will drive up the cost of gas and groceries” and “wants government-run healthcare.”
Berman is looking to unseat U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil, R-Janesville, who is seeking his fifth term. Steil has advocated for the cryptocurrency industry during his time in Congress and benefitted from some $764,000 in ad buys from a crypto-backed PAC during his 2024 reelection campaign, per FEC filings.
