Milwaukee, WI  (Sept. 23, 2026) — Friends, colleagues and supporters of quality journalism will gather on Wednesday Sept. 30 from 5–7 p.m. at The Fitzgerald, 1119 N Marshall St., to celebrate the launch of the Daniel Bice Investigative Reporting Endowment, a new fund dedicated to supporting investigative reporting interns at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The fundraiser will honor the life and legacy of the late Dan Bice, whose decades of political and investigative reporting shaped Wisconsin journalism. The event will feature a cash bar, light snacks and a curated Indie music set by Radio Milwaukee DJ Kenny Perez, highlighting the sounds Dan loved. Attendees will have the opportunity to reflect on Bice’s career, his impact on the community, and the enduring importance of fearless reporting.

The Daniel Bice internship is designed to do more than teach young reporters how to write a story. It will instill the principles Dan championed throughout his career: following the facts, challenging assumptions, asking hard questions, and pursuing stories that matter. The Bice Endowment is being organized by friends and colleagues of Dan Bice. Funds raised will support an investigative reporting internship at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The nonprofit Milwaukee Press Club Endowment will manage the fund.
