League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County Hosting 2nd Webinar in a 3-Part Series on October 8, 2026 

Milwaukee – Wisconsin energy demand is expected to rise 40 percent by 2032

The League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County (LWVMC) will host the second webinar in a 3-part series on October 8, 2026 to address the economic and environmental impacts of options for generating electricity in Wisconsin. The free webinar runs from 11:00 AM to Noon.

Speakers will be:

  • Ruby Johnson, LaVonica Love and Pastor Mary Martha Kannass of Hephatha Lutheran Church, 1720 W. Locust Street, Milwaukee, WI 53206 will address electricity affordability issues and how they deal with them.
  •  Tom Content, Executive Director, Citizens Utility Board, Inc. (CUB) will address CUB’s activities to address costs.
  •  Ciaran Gallagher, PhD, Energy & Air Manager, Clean Wisconsin, will address environmental concerns.
  •  Karen Douglas, League of Women Voters of New Mexico (NM) and retired nuclear engineer will briefly address nuclear waste and the current administration’s executive order incentives.
