Senator Jamie Wall recently provided testimony to the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) regarding the proposed electric and natural gas rate increases for Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) for 2027 and 2028.
WPS has requested significant rate increases, while PSC staff have recommended a substantially smaller increase.
Wall asked the PSC to carefully consider the interests of ratepayers while making a decision.
“Utility rates should ensure reliable service, but customers should not automatically bear every projected or unexpected cost,” said Senator Wall.
“My constituents constantly tell me about their struggles with the rising cost of living, and utility bills are an unavoidable expense. I respectfully ask the Commission to keep the interests of ratepayers in mind when reviewing these proposed increases.”
