MADISON, Wis. — In new audio obtained by the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, Congressman Tom Tiffany tells a retired nurse she’ll have to wait until he’s governor to see his health care plan. When she pressed him at a Tavern Talk in Cable on September 30th on what his plan is for the Wisconsinites he’s kicked off health insurance plans, Tiffany brushed her off saying “You’re going to see it in the next budget, ma’am. Because when I become governor, we’re going to show it to you very clearly.” The problem is he won’t show Wisconsin the plan clearly now.

“Congressman Tom Tiffany says Wisconsin will see his health plan in his first budget as Governor, but we’ve already seen it: he pulled the plug on health care for 45,000 Wisconsinites so the billionaires bankrolling his campaign could get bigger tax breaks,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Emily Stuckey. “MAGA billionaires are spending millions to buy the governor’s office, and they aren’t doing it out of the kindness of their hearts — if Tiffany wins, they know he’ll do their bidding in Madison, just like he has in Washington, and Wisconsin families will be caught footing the bill again.”

TIFFANY [0:21:30] That we’re going to do, and I think this is to your point, we are most effectively going to be able to deliver a better healthcare program for people of Wisconsin, including right here in the Northwoods.

RETIRED NURSE [0:21:42] So why hasn’t that been happening now? You’ve been our congressman, and Chanz, you’ve been our assemblyman, and that’s just not what’s happening, folks. It’s a travesty. So I’m a retired nurse.

TIFFANY [0:21:57]  Sure. So the 200 million Wisconsin is just getting it now. We just voted for it last year. We’re just now getting it in Wisconsin, and the extra billion we’re going to get for the next budget.

RETIRED NURSE [0:22:09]  That’s not what’s happening because 45,000 people are losing it next year.

TIFFANY [0:22:15]  It is coming, ma’am.

RETIRED NURSE [0:22:17]  I have a graduate degree in health system administration. We’re—we’re losing our health care. There’s a measles epidemic. You voted against BadgerCare. You voted against the Affordable Care Act and tax breaks for people.

TIFFANY [0:22:31]  We’ll, we’ll show you. Anybody else?

RETIRED NURSE [0:22:33]  Well, you haven’t shown us yet, Tom.

TIFFANY [0:22:35]  You’re going to see it in the next budget, ma’am. Because when I become governor, we’re going to show it to you very clearly.
