A month before the election, Wisconsin Republican State Senator Patrick Testin reminds voters of allegations that democratic state senate candidate Trevor Jung campaigned on city time. While running against Republican Jim Croft, Jung continues to serve as Racine’s transit director.
During a press conference at Racine City Hall Friday, Republican State Senator Patrick Testin reiterated claims that during this past summer, Jung campaigned while on the clock for his transit director job, alleging Jung was at partisan events and made social media posts to support his campaign.
“It is clear that Trevor believes he is above the rules and above the law, and is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his political gain at the expense of the taxpayers.”
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Republicans press Democratic candidate Jung as party money increases
Republicans are keeping the pressure on Democratic candidate Trevor Jung in what is proving to be one of the most hotly contested races for control of the state Senate.
On Oct. 7, state Sen. Patrick Testin, R-Stevens Point, held a news conference outside Racine City Hall to denounce Jung, who is under investigation by the Racine County district attorney in response to a complaint alleging Jung campaigned on city time.
“Instead of working for Racine families, he’s campaigning for the state Senate,” Testin said. “Something smells fishy here. And it’s not just unethical, it’s illegal.”
. . .
“If you take a look at the time when these events were held, there’s no possible way that he’d be able to get there and back within an hour, unless he had a jetpack,” Testin said.
