U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil is out with another ad blaming Dem challenger Mitchell Berman for a 2023 school lockdown.

“It’s every parent’s worst nightmare: a lockdown at your kid’s school,’ says an unnamed, cardigan-clad woman in the 30-second spot. “My heart stopped when I heard what Mitchell Berman did at an elementary school.”

She says Berman “confronted” school officials while “pushing his radical agenda amid threats to staff” and was escorted out of the school building, which went into lockdown.

“I don’t want Mitchell Berman in my kid’s school, and I don’t want him in Congress,” the narrator says, adding Berman is “too radical and too crazy.”

Berman, an emergency room nurse, told news outlets in 2023 that he was escorted from Raymond School and told it was going into lockdown after he went to the school office to ask for school board documents he’d sought via open records request.

Berman’s daughter attended kindergarten at the time at the pre-K-8 school.

It’s the third ad in recent weeks to target Berman over the 2023 incident. Steil’s campaign put out a 15-second spot about the event late last month, following a 30-second spot from a crypto-backed PAC.
