MADISON, Wis. – Months of reporting has revealed that endangered Republican incumbent Shannon Zimmerman missed a quarter of votes in the most recent legislative session. Previous research proves one absence is linked to a vacation in the Bahamas where Zimmerman is photographed, when he should have been on the Assembly floor. Now, new reporting demonstrates that Zimmerman also skipped votes to speak on an AI panel.
“Shannon Zimmerman has failed to take responsibility for missing the most votes of any Assembly member and is misleading voters about his absences,” said ADCC Press Secretary Matt Roznowski. “He has missed votes while vacationing in the Bahamas, and new reporting proves that he also skipped out on voting to speak to a panel about his work in AI.”
“Families across Wisconsin can’t afford to miss a day of work and don’t have the luxury to be able to be with a sick family member because of Shannon Zimmerman’s policies,” added Roznowski. “Wisconsin families are struggling to afford groceries and rent, let alone to afford a beach vacation in the Bahamas. Shannon Zimmerman is out of touch with voters in this district, and instead prioritizes what’s best for the billionaires bankrolling his campaign.”
