U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman, R-Glenbeulah, released the first campaign ad of his reelection bid featuring a man who praises the congressman for his effort to get back his father’s military benefits.

Grothman’s campaign didn’t release details of the buy. AdImpact had tracked $21,000 in digital buys from the Glenbeulah Republican as of Thursday night.

In the spot, a man identified as Greg talks about his father, a retired Vietnam veteran who has dementia. Greg says his father’s military pay stopped 15 months ago, and he was “getting nowhere with DC” until he called Grothman’s office.

He says the lawmaker “helped me get my dad’s benefits back. My dad had this country’s back, and when Washington did not, Glenn Grothman did.”
