MILWAUKEE, Wis. — David Crowley has a plan to make sure local communitieshave the last word on data center construction, ensure large data centers pay theirown way, and protect families and small businesses from rate hikes.

Crowley’s plan to hold data centers accountable:

  • Local communities must have final say in whether and where a data center is built. Growth only makes sense when residents know the costs and benefits.
  • Crowley will require clear disclosure of projected demand and enforceable utility rates that recover the full cost of service.
  • Crowley will protect water and farmland, compare less disruptive sites and routes, and make sure local concerns are heard before a project is approved.

If a community decides a data center is right for them, data centers MUST:

  • No NDAs and disclose all plans and costs up front
  • Data centers must bring their own new clean, affordable power, never costing families
  • Pay all costs including generation, transmission, interconnection, and grid upgrades
  • Use Wisconsin union labor, project labor and community benefit agreements
  • Protect our water and farmland to stop pollution before it happens

Bottom line: Data centers will pay their own way, and communities have the ultimatesay.
