RACINE, WI — Today, the Mitchell Berman for Congress campaign released a deeply personal new ad, “Mom.” The ad highlights Berman’s late mother’s battle being denied preventative care and losing coverage after her cancer diagnosis, taking aim at Bryan Steil’s record voting to slash healthcare for working people to deliver massive tax breaks to billionaires and his corporate donors.

“As an ER nurse, I’ve seen our healthcare system fail families,” Berman says in the ad. “And I’ve lived it.”

Mitchell Berman, an ER nurse, has experienced the fallout that working and middle class Wisconsin families suffer as a result of Washington politicians like Bryan Steil putting their corporate donors’ profits over working families and patients.

  • Mitchell Berman has spent over a decade caring for veterans and families. He rejects corporate PAC money and will work across the aisle to lower drug costs, premiums, and hold Big Pharma and insurance monopolies accountable.

With less than two weeks until election day, Berman is well positioned to win what has become one of the most competitive House races in the country. A recent House Majority PAC pollshows Berman leading Steil by one point (48-47). This poll comes after two other public pollsthat both show the race within one point, and the DCCC recently added Berman to its priority “Red to Blue” list.

TRANSCRIPT

{Speaker: Mitchell Berman}

As an ER nurse, I’ve seen our healthcare system fail families — and I’ve lived it.

Insurance denied my mom preventative care.

Two years later, she was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. Her premiums soared and she lost coverage.

I’ve had enough of Bryan Steil voting for tax cuts for billionaires, while gutting healthcare families depend on.

I’m Mitchell Berman.

I’ll work with Republicans and Democrats to lower costs.

I approve this message because no one should lose a loved one while politicians put billionaires first.
