MILWAUKEE, Wis. — As Election Day nears, SEIU Wisconsin union members will gather on Saturday, October 24 to demand an end to anti-worker policies and remind voters that Wisconsin deserves politicians across every corner of government who will put working Wisconsinites first. Union members will be joined by elected leaders Representative Greta Neubauer, Senator Dianne Hesselbien, and gubernatorial candidate David Crowley.
SEIU Wisconsin members will begin the day in conversation with Rep. Greta Neubauer and Sen. Diane Hesselbein, highlighting the need to elect a pro-worker trifecta committed to ensuring all Wisconsinites have the right to join and form unions and an end to the affordability crisis plaguing our state and nation.
After the panel, union members will rally with Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley to launch his bus tour for governor alongside SEIU International President April Verrett. Following the rally, SEIU Wisconsin members will knock doors throughout the city during a canvas to mobilize support for pro-worker candidates running in the Nov. 3 general election.
For far too long, working-class Wisconsinites have struggled under a political system that prioritizes corporations and profits over working people. Corporations and billionaires continue to fund political efforts to tear down vital healthcare and social services while securing tax breaks for themselves. All the while, essential workers who dedicate their lives and careers towards keeping Wisconsin healthy and safe are struggling to afford rising costs for rent, groceries, healthcare and gasoline. This Saturday, SEIU Wisconsin members will advocate for a better future where the needs of working people are prioritized.
