MADISON, Wis. – In case you missed it, the Heartland Post exposed Democratic State Treasurer Candidate Yee Leng Xiong’s close personal relationship with radical socialist and failed gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong.
Hong has supported Xiong’s career since its beginning with his unsuccessful run for the 85th Wisconsin Assembly District in 2024. In an X post from April 7, 2024, Hong encouraged followers to “join me in supporting Yee,” and later that year she posted that Xiong “embodies what it means to bring more than representation into positions of power.”
This support doesn’t just go one way either. In October 2025, during the gubernatorial primary, he posted that he attended a meet-and-greet for the Hong campaign to “hear ideas firsthand,” and he described himself as “(painfully) neutral” in the race.
The last thing Wisconsin needs in the State Treasurer’s Office is radically liberal Xiong and his socialist friends. Incumbent John Leiber is running on proven results and responsible fiscal management. Xiong just wants to increase the treasurer’s power and weaponize the position to support his own radical beliefs.
