Washington, DC — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All-endorsed candidate David Crowley won his gubernatorial race in Wisconsin, defeating anti-abortion extremist Tom Tiffany.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:

“David Crowley understands that one court ruling cannot put reproductive freedom beyond the reach of anti-abortion politicians. Wisconsinites elected a governor who will veto new bans and work to give voters the final say on protecting these rights in their state constitution.”

Reproductive Freedom for All Director of State Campaigns Pavitra Abraham released the following statement:

“Tonight, Wisconsinites have secured a victory for David Crowley and reproductive freedom. Governor-elect Crowley gives Wisconsin a huge opportunity to bolster protections for reproductive freedom and be able to thwart future attacks on Wisconsinites’ fundamental rights.”

Reproductive Freedom for All endorsed Crowley in September as part of the organization’s historic My Body. My Ballot. program, a $23.5 million midterm campaign to mobilize the 8 in 10 Americans who support legal abortion in support of candidates across the country.

In the final stretch of his campaign, Crowley held a presser announcing his support for putting the right to abortion in the state constitution, drawing contrast to Republican Tom Tiffany, who supports restrictions and banning abortion without exceptions. As a Wisconsin state representative, Crowley co-sponsored legislation declaring abortion care as healthcare, and celebrated the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s 2025 decision to strike down the state’s 1849 abortion ban.

Tiffany backed a nationwide abortion ban, has consistently voted against legislation aiming to protect and expand reproductive freedom, and signed on to an amicus brief in the Supreme Court case that ultimately overturned Roe v. Wade.

For over 55 years, Reproductive Freedom for All (formerly NARAL Pro-Choice America) has fought to protect and advance reproductive freedom at the federal and state levels—including access to abortion care, birth control, pregnancy and post-partum care, and paid family leave—for everybody. Reproductive Freedom for All is powered by its more than 4.5 million members from every state and congressional district in the country, representing the 8 in 10 Americans who support legal abortion.
