End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement celebrating ECU-endorsed Representative-elect Mitchell Berman’s victory:
“Congratulations to Rep.-elect Mitchell Berman on this big win. Wisconsin families are tired of seeing costs go up while corporations get richer, and that’s what his campaign was all about. He has a plan to clean up the corruption in Washington and will fight for a government that’s accountable to the people. We’re proud he was one of over 300 Democrats who joined Unrig Washington, and we’re excited to partner with him in Congress.”
ECU endorsed Rep.-elect Mitchell Berman and made a key investment in digital ads supporting him in the final stretch of this race. ECU also hosted a town hall with him a week before the election, joined by Rep. Mark Pocan (WI-02) and a room full of supporters. Rep.-elect Berman also joined Unrig Washington alongside more than 300 Democratic candidates committed to rejecting corporate PAC money, supporting a ban on congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money in politics.
He made government ethics an important part of his campaign narrative. He brings a strong track record of public service as a nurse, veteran advocate, and union member who will not be beholden to any special interest.
For 11 years, End Citizens United (ECU) has been dedicated to combating the two biggest challenges facing our democracy: the corrosive impact of Big Money in politics and attempts to block access to the ballot box. Since its founding in 2015, ECU has had over 1.4 million donors with an average donation of just $14. The group has more than four million members nationwide and is one of the nation’s leading anti-corruption organizations
