HUDSON, Wis. — With 100% of precincts reporting in Assembly District 30, Democratic candidate Kevin Knoke has received the most votes and defeated five-term incumbent Shannon Zimmerman. Knoke, a longtime local elementary school teacher and United States Army veteran, issued the following statement:

“It is the honor of a lifetime to earn the trust of voters in the 30th Assembly District. This campaign has always been about people, and how we can rise above the political rhetoric to find common ground. Whether you voted for me or not, whether or not we agree on the issues, I promise to be a state representative who shows up and serves everyone.

“I want to thank my wife, Jill, and our sons, for supporting me and having my back throughout this entire campaign. I want to thank our grassroots supporters who knocked on doors, made phone calls, and chipped in with small-dollar donations. Lastly, I want to thank my opponent, State Representative Shannon Zimmerman, for his years of service to the St. Croix Valley. Although we have different approaches to solving the problems our region faces, I know we both care deeply about this district and want people here to succeed.

“I am truly humbled and honored to be State Representative-elect for Assembly District 30. I am grateful for the trust voters have placed in me to be their voice in Madison, and I look forward to delivering results that bring down rising costs and improve our quality of life.”
