NEW FRANKEN, WI — Republican Nic Cravillion has been elected to represent Wisconsin’s First Senate District, receiving 49,821 votes and securing 58% of the vote in Tuesday’s general election.
Cravillion, a lifelong Northeast Wisconsin resident, U.S. Army combat veteran, small business owner, husband, and father, won following a grassroots campaign focused on affordability, public safety, economic opportunity, and protecting constitutional freedoms.
“I am incredibly humbled by the trust the people of Northeast Wisconsin have placed in me,” said Cravillion. “When I announced my candidacy back in May, I knew this would take an enormous amount of work, but I could never have imagined the support we would receive. This victory belongs to every volunteer, supporter, and voter who helped us build this campaign together.”
Despite his victory, Cravillion acknowledged the difficult election night for Wisconsin Republicans, who lost the governor’s race and their majorities in both chambers of the State Legislature.
“While I’m grateful for our victory, last night’s results are bittersweet,” Cravillion said. “We lost some incredible public servants, and Republicans across Wisconsin have some serious work ahead of us. We need to take an honest look at where we go from here, get back to our conservative roots, and focus on rebuilding a stronger Republican Party.”
While voters across Wisconsin shifted toward Democrats, Cravillion believes his victory reflects the importance of having a genuine connection to the communities he will represent.
“I believe the people of Northeast Wisconsin saw something beyond party politics in this election. They voted for someone they know, not just from campaign signs or political advertisements, but from being part of their communities year after year. They see me at church, volunteering, and supporting our local businesses. This is where I was born and raised, and where my wife and I are raising our family. I’ve spent my adult life serving our country, our state, and our communities. I’m one of us, and that’s not just a campaign slogan. It’s who I am.”
Cravillion emphasized that the election presents an opportunity for Republicans to rebuild and refocus on the issues that matter most to Wisconsin families.
As he prepares to take office, Cravillion also stressed his responsibility to represent all residents of the 1st Senate District, regardless of political affiliation.
“For nearly six years, I had the privilege of helping constituents throughout Northeast Wisconsin as an in-district legislative staffer. I never asked someone whether they were a Republican or Democrat before helping them, and that isn’t going to change now,” Cravillion said. “We may disagree on some issues, but we all want safe communities, good jobs, affordable homes, and a better future for our families. Those are the things I’m going to work toward.”
Cravillion concluded by thanking his family, campaign team, volunteers, longtime friend and mentor Senator André Jacque, and the nearly 50,000 voters who supported his candidacy.
“I want to thank my wife, Caitlin, and our children for their patience, sacrifices, and support throughout this campaign. Thank you to my campaign team and every volunteer who gave their time and energy to help us get here. I also want to thank my good friend and mentor, Senator André Jacque, for his guidance, friendship, and years of dedicated service to Northeast Wisconsin. Most importantly, thank you to the nearly 50,000 voters who placed their trust in me. Representing our communities in the Wisconsin State Senate is an honor I will never take for granted. I’m ready to get to work and continue Working for Wisconsin.”
