MADISON –Rep. Todd Novak (Dodgeville) released the following statement on the passing of former State Representative Ed Brooks (Reedsburg).

“Ed was not only my colleague, but also a good friend. During our time in the legislature, we spent countless hours together at the capitol and community events. So many, in fact, that he coined the phrase “The Trio of Awesomeness” when referring to he, myself, and Rep. Travis Tranel. Whether you had just met Ed or had known him for years, his sense of humor will always be remembered. It wasn’t easy to walk away from a conversation without a smile on your face.

 Ed’s service to the State of Wisconsin is just part of the legacy he will leave behind. He will be remembered as a public servant who truly cared about the people he represented. Southwest Wisconsin lost a great man and he will be deeply missed.  Anyone that knew Ed, knew he wore his love for his family on his sleeve.  My heart and sympathy go out to his wife Barb, his three girls and grandchildren.”
