Let’s hope negotiations breathe new life into a project that will help Wisconsin’s economy for decades to come.

Among the bills Republicans are considering in the Legislature is one eliminating the last remnants of Wisconsin’s personal property tax.

AB 96 is a bill that would allow cities that have reached their 12% statutory cap for TIF to create new TIDs if and only if those TIDs are developer financed (otherwise known as pay-as-you-go).

And Atrium Health. ‘Nonprofit’ health systems are a great place to get rich.

Wisconsin Republicans have joined a widespread effort to ease child labor laws to allow more kids to work more often in more places. While advertised as a way to help ease the national labor shortage, it is the kids who will benefit most if the laws are relaxed.

Choice, charter and special needs students would be in line for significant boosts in the state-funded vouchers they receive, under legislation that cleared the Legislature late Thursday.

Legislation to pump an additional $275 million into state aid for local governments cleared a major hurdle today as six Dem senators joined 15 Republicans in backing a deal GOP leaders struck with Dem Gov. Tony Evers.

Our state has a choice between two divergent futures. One choice is demographic and economic decline. The other is to seize the opportunity at hand right now to transform our tax system and make Wisconsin a regional or even national magnet.
