The benefits of digesting manure and food-processing waste include bigger harvests with less synthetic fertilizer, less odor, safer groundwater, fewer new landfills and lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Seeing these improvements take shape has given me a sense of pride, but also a time to reflect on the people around the world who don’t have the same access to these resources as I do.

In our nation, there have always been those on the left and right who will say the most absurd or deranged statements. One can find those examples with ease from the daily newspaper or online. But those are far different from the sustained and repetitive lies about ‘stolen elections’ or how Brown people are “vermin” who are “poisoning the blood of our country,” which falls on the ears of the easily led and the ignorant part of the nation who then feel a license to say and do things are that dangerous to the whole of society.

Regardless of what you think of Joe Biden’s mental acuity in 2024, he seemed to have a pretty good grip on reality back in 2020. And whom did he pick then out of 150 million possible Democrats as best qualified to take over if he wasn’t up to the job? Kamala Harris! He should make the same decision today.

The last thing Republicans should want is for Biden to step down.

“Liberty at Stake” tells the story of Joshua Glover and the connection to the groundbreaking gathering of Republicans in Ripon, Wisconsin.

The bottom line is that the election this November is likely to have a tremendous impact on whether we will successfully deal with what may well be the greatest challenge we’ve ever faced.

Will civility be on display at the RNC? Even if its not, we all have a role to play in its revival.

Two years ago, the court ruled that state law does not authorize election clerks to receive absentee ballots through a drop box—they may only receive ballots in the municipal office or via the mail. Now, the court has reversed course and overruled its previous decision, not for any legal reason, but solely because the makeup of the Court has changed to a liberal majority.

Wisconsin has a video gaming base that could grow into a secondary hub. Ample technical and artistic talent is here or willing to return; a carefully constructed tax credit could light up the screen.
