The former Madison mayor’s latest antics complete his transformation into a backward-looking conservative.

The Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council last year awarded a grant to The Badger Project, which together with a watchdog group known as the Invisible Institute is suing the state Department of Justice for refusing to release records about police officers. That case remains pending.

Instead of confusing our local election workers with lies, we should be supporting their hard work and dedication to our communities.

Glad to see Kamala Harris spend time in Madison last week conversing with the college kids. What’s been missing in all the mayhem during this campaign has been any serious talk about the real dangers facing us — climate change and the epidemic of gun-related violence.

What we can learn from a 24-year-old voting in his first presidential election.

It’s one of the swingiest regions in the state, a microcosm of Wisconsin’s changing political landscape.

Despite the vast majority of polls in 2016 and 2020 miscalculating voter sentiment, that does not mean that all polls are untrustworthy and, therefore, useless. A more nuanced view shows that polls that track issues instead of candidates are still meaningful.

If the poll is even partially correct, and it’s normally a very good poll, it indicates that other pollsters may be undercounting women voters.

If Donald Trump could quit lying about losing his last election he would be headed for a landslide victory in this one.

Donald Trump continues to denigrate the ACA and says he has “concepts of a plan” to replace the ACA. Likewise, Trump’s running mate J.D. Vance is raising repeal of the ACA, especially prohibitions of annual and lifetime limits on private insurance coverage and refusal to cover people with pre-existing conditions.

Frankly, Americans have had enough – enough of the government spending and printing of money; enough of the high prices. It’s exhausting. Just recently government spending surged another 10%! Holy crap. That’s massive and it will drive up prices.

he ascension of Donald Trump in 2016 brought out the worst in the Republican Party, with his divisive rhetoric and disregard for democratic norms. Each day of Trump’s presidency, he seemed to set a new low, ending with his refusal to accept the 2020 election results and encouraging his supporters to attack the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

We must have clear and concise requests for whoever wins the election.

It is a crime to incite violence, and that is exactly what the former president did.

The number of state residents 75 and older will increase by 74% in less than a generation.

Collaboration drives innovation, and for Wisconsin to continue to lead in innovation, we must continue to build on the connections we’re establishing.
