Until the late 1970s, legislators came to Madison for a few weeks to pass a budget and deal with pressing issues that bubbled up from the people they represented. And those legislators knew the people they represented because in their real jobs they worked and played alongside them.

Ranked choice voting has eroded voter confidence, skewed election results, and pushed the political landscape further towards liberal progressivism, undermining the principles of freedom and democracy.

“Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.” The words are from a portion of the Equal Rights Protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. It promises that all persons in the United States shall enjoy the “equal protection of the laws.”
