Former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk has publicly endorsed Jill Karofsky for Dane County judge. The non-partisan election will be April 4, 2017.
As County Executive, Falk was an early leader in criminal justice reform. She initiated a number of groundbreaking reforms in Dane County including improved efficiencies in the courts and reduced delays, targeted programs for people with mental illness, expanded drug treatment court, and she created a unique program for repeat drunk drivers that significantly reduced re-offending.
“Jill Karofsky shares my commitment to effective criminal justice reform,” Falk said. “Her courage and her deep knowledge of how courts work, and how they can work better, will make a difference in helping reduce racial disparity, improve public safety, and ensure equity and fairness for everyone in the court system.”
“Kathleen Falk is a great role model because of her leadership, vision, and ability to bring people together to make change happen,” Attorney Karofsky said. “I am honored to have earned her support.”
