Wausau representative’s first bill is heading to the Assembly floor
Madison… Today, the Assembly Committee on Health recommended passage of Assembly Bill 69, commonly referred to as Right to Try. Representative Patrick Snyder (Schofield) is the author of this legislation.
“I applaud the Assembly Committee on Health for recommending passage of my first bill, Right to Try,” said Snyder. “This bill offers a new path for terminally ill patients who have exhausted all treatment options, and want to take another chance at finding a cure.”
The bill passed out of the Assembly Committee 10-2 on a bipartisan vote. The bill will now head to the full Assembly for a vote on Thursday, March 9th.
“I am proud to say the first bill I authored this legislative session has the potential of saving lives. I want to thank Chairman Sanfelippo (R-New Berlin) and committee members for bringing this bill to the floor.”
In a matter of 3 years, 33 other states have passed similar legislation with overwhelming bipartisan support. Senator Ron Johnson has introduced similar legislation at the federal level.
