The Water Quality Task Force is inviting Milwaukee citizens to attend special Saturday public community listening sessions regarding the health impacts of lead in water service lines, as well as the findings and recommendations of the Task Force.

Task Force Chair Alderman Jim Bohl said the sessions will be held on Saturday, April 1 at North Division High School, and on Saturday, April 8 at Bradley Tech High School. “Today it is simply not possible, in many cases, for people to be able to attend public meetings at night or during the week during business hours,” he said. “We are hopeful these Saturday sessions will be more accessible to more of our citizens.”

Please see the attached task force report of (working) draft recommendations (the report will be posted shortly on the city’s website).

The Water Quality Task Force has been meeting regularly since September 2016, investigating ways to make sure the city’s drinking water is safe from lead in old water line pipes and lateral service lines. The task force will draft recommendations on steps and methods to ensure the long-term health and safety of Milwaukee’s drinking water.
