Baldwin says she raised $1.2 million in pre-primary period

U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin’s campaign says she raised nearly $1.2 million between July 1-25. But the campaign did not provide figures for cash on hand or money spent over the pre-primary period. The Madison Dem’s fundraising total for the period exceeds the just more than $1 million GOP U.S. Senate contender Kevin Nicholson pulled in over the second quarter of the year. It also outpaces fellow Republican candidate state Sen. Leah Vukmir’s $668,788 raised from April to June. For comparison, in the 2016 election cycle, former U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold over the same period brought in $780,000.

WisDems: Vukmir and Nicholson support increasing health care costs, cutting coverage

Contact: Brad Bainum, bradb@wisdems.org MADISON — Leah Vukmir and Kevin Nicholson just recommitted to Washington Republicans’ health care market sabotage that’s spiking premiums across the country — because they’re both running to work for powerful special interests in Washington, not Wisconsin families. Vukmir and Nicholson are bought-and-paid-for by the corporate special interests and big donors bankrolling their campaigns — and their health care record proves it: Vukmir and Nicholson support Republican efforts to declare protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions are unconstitutional, which would let powerful insurance companies discriminate against people — and has the potential to jeopardize 133 million Americans’ health care access. Vukmir

Contact: Brad Bainum, bradb@wisdems.org Illinois billionaire Dick Uihlein has spent more than $8 million for Kevin Nicholson; and Wisconsin’s Diane Hendricks is spending big for Leah Vukmir MADISON — Despite Leah Vukmir’s claim that she isn’t beholden to her campaign’s big donors, the truth is that both Vukmir and Kevin Nicholson are bought-and-paid-for by billionaires and powerful, corporate special interests that are spending millions to buy a U.S. Senator who will work for them. Illinois billionaire Dick Uihlein and Kevin Nicholson — Uihlein has so far spent more than $8 million in support of Nicholson, as he seeks to “spawn” and “nurture” a U.S.

And on another key Supreme Court litmus test — the question of whether the constitutional

WisDems: Vukmir and Nicholson back deep Social Security and Medicare cuts

Contact: Brad Bainum, bradb@wisdems.org MADISON — Make no mistake: underneath all of the coded language, Leah Vukmir and Kevin Nicholson support Paul Ryan and Washington Republicans’ plans for cuts to Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid, which provide essential benefits and health care coverage to Wisconsin kids, retirees, and nursing home residents. Kevin Nicholson has received more than $8 million in support from Illinois billionaire Dick Uihlein, whose agenda includes privatizing Social Security and eliminating health care programs that Wisconsin families rely on. And the reason that Vukmir received Speaker Paul Ryan’s endorsement last month is because she agrees with Nicholson, Ryan, and Uihlein when it
