MADISON – U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin today called on Republican nominee Leah Vukmir to join her in three upcoming televised general election debates.

“This election will be a choice between who stands up to powerful special interests, and who is in their pocket,” said Tammy Baldwin. “I’m calling on my opponent to join me in three statewide debates this fall to discuss the issues facing Wisconsin families and who is standing in their corner.”

Tammy Baldwin has agreed to three debates that would be televised to a statewide audience:

  • TMJ4, NBC26, WUWM and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Debate, hosted by UW-Milwaukee.
  • Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Debate in Wausau.
  • WISN “Upfront with Mike Gousha” and Marquette Law School debate in Milwaukee.

Tammy Baldwin recently concluded her In Your Corner Tour, a week-long statewide swing to highlight issues that hit close to home for so many Wisconsinites, yet are ignored by those in Washington who do the bidding of powerful special interests. The tour included stops in 18 counties that focused on clean drinking water, the opioid crisis, rural broadband access, veteran unemployment, dairy farming, African-American entrepreneurship, and more.
