MADISON – Governor Scott Walker discussed Wisconsin’s economic growth today at Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce’s (WMC) State of Wisconsin Business and Industry Lunch in Madison. Wisconsin’s unemployment rate has been at or below 3.0% for seven consecutive months continuing a state record.
“We’re seeing the best overall economic performance in Wisconsin in a generation,” said Governor Walker. “Our unemployment rate has been at or below 3.0 percent for seven straight months, incomes are up, and we’re top 10 in the nation for manufacturing jobs since taking office. We are moving Wisconsin forward.”

WMC’s State of Wisconsin Business and Industry Lunch is another stop on WMC Foundation’s 2018 State of Wisconsin Manufacturing Tour. The tour will continue across Wisconsin featuring manufacturing in Wisconsin and its continued growth in the state. Each week has a different theme including:

October 1-7: Veterans in Manufacturing
Oct. 8-14: Wisconsin’s Supply Chain
Oct. 15-21: Manufacturing Apprenticeships
Oct. 22-28 Economic Impact of Manufacturing in Wisconsin
Oct. 29 – Nov. 4: Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin

“Thanks to pro-growth reforms, Wisconsin’s business community has a positive outlook and continues to grow our economy,” said WMC President & CEO Kurt R. Bauer. “Wisconsin is creating more jobs, wages are up and businesses are expanding. This is a great time to be a Wisconsinite.”
