NARAL Was an Early Supporter of Sen. Tammy Baldwin, Randy Bryce in Wisconsin
In a victory for Wisconsin women and families, NARAL Pro-Choice America congratulated pro-choice champions Sen. Tammy Baldwin and Randy Bryce for winning their primaries.
“When candidates proudly stand up for reproductive rights, they win. We saw that once again tonight with victories by unapologetic pro-choice champions Senator Tammy Baldwin and Randy Bryce,” said NARAL Pro-Choice America Political Director, Nicole Brener-Schmitz. “We know Baldwin and Bryce will continue fighting until reproductive freedom is a reality for all Wisconsinites and we look forward to ensuring they are victorious on November 6th.”
“For too long extreme legislators like Scott Walker and Paul Ryan have had free reign to play politics with the reproductive healthcare of Wisconsin women and families. No more,” said NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin Board Chair, Eileen Zeiger. “NARAL members and volunteers across Wisconsin are fired up and ready to make sure that leaders like Baldwin and Bryce who never compromise on the rights of women and families win this November.”
Tammy Baldwin believes that every woman deserves the freedom to make her own, personal decisions about her health care, her family, and her body. And she knows that choice isn’t just about vital health care options and women’s health care rights, because having control over the decision of when to have children, and how many to have, greatly affects women’s economic prosperity. When women do better, our economy does better as a whole. That’s why Tammy is committed to fighting against dangerous efforts to roll back progress, like weakening ACA rules requiring employer-provided health plans to cover birth control. She also introduced the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would protect a woman’s right to safe and legal abortion by ending laws intended to restrict reproductive health services for women
As a veteran, iron worker, father, and cancer survivor, few people have a better understanding of the issues hardworking Americans face today than Randy Bryce. Randy Bryce received the backing of the nation’s leading pro-choice advocacy group because of his strong commitment to stand up for women and families. He’s made clear that protecting and expanding women’s access to reproductive healthcare including abortion is a top priority for him.
