MADISON – Today, Representative Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) released the following statement regarding her August Town Hall with Representative Peter Barca, held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the George Bray Neighborhood YMCA in Racine:

“I was so honored that over forty community members took the time from their busy evening to speak with me and with Representative Barca about the many important issues the legislature addressed this past session.

“While I was only elected this past January, the legislature voted on hundreds of bills this past session. I organized this town hall with Representative Barca because it is critically important that our community is informed about legislation on the issues that affect our community, including public education, transportation, gun safety, criminal justice, and healthcare.

“On Wednesday, we had real conversations about real issues. Sometimes these discussions are difficult, but for our democracy to function, we as legislators need to listen and have the hard conversations with the people in our communities. Thank you to all who took the time out of their Wednesday evening to speak with each other and to share their views with Representative Barca and me.

“I’d also like to give a very special thank you to the George Bray Neighborhood YMCA and all of the amazing staff there who went above and beyond to make this conversation possible.”
