JANESVILLE, WI — House Speaker and Wisconsin’s First District Congressman Paul Ryan issued the following statement after Bryan Steil was declared the winner in the Republican primary to fill the seat that he will be retiring from in January, 2019:
“Bryan Steil is the right person to represent this district in Congress and I congratulate him on his win tonight. I know Bryan will take his private sector skills and problem-solving abilities to Washington and fight every day to improve the lives of Southern Wisconsinites, who I have been so privileged to serve for the last two decades. I will do everything I can to help his fall campaign, and look forward to his victory in November.”
