MADISON — The Democratic Party of Wisconsin is proud to stand in solidarity with members of the LGBTQ+ community ahead of Wisconsin’s largest Pride Month celebration, PrideFest Milwaukee.
“Under Democratic leadership we’ve made incredible progress for LGBTQ rights, but the fight continues,” said DNC Secretary Jason Rae. “We must ensure that leaders like Sen. Tammy Baldwin get reelected to build on the progress we’ve made.”
The mission of PrideFest Milwaukee is to educate, celebrate and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and create a space for people to come together for the weekend. A completely volunteer-run event, each year PrideFest brings thousands of folks together to evoke change within our communities.
“No matter your sexual orientation or gender identity, you should be proud to celebrate the identities that make you unique.” said Martha Laning, chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. “Everyone deserves a community that welcomes them with open arms, and Wisconsin Democrats are thrilled to be allies and advocates with and for our LGBTQ+ friends, not just during Pride Month, but all year round.”
PrideFest Milwaukee extends from June 7-10 and includes a lineup of performers, musicians, speakers, activities and dancers.
