American Dairy Coalition: Statement on bi-partisan passage of USMCA

January 16th, 2020: The Senate has passed the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) by a bipartisan vote of 89-10. This long-awaited agreement will replace the previous North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and will expand existing markets of agricultural exports with two of the United States’ top trading partners.  Exports to Mexico and Canada represented $39.7 billion in food and agricultural exports in 2018 and supported an estimated 325,000 American jobs, according to the USDA. Dairy will have expanded market access in Canada, which eliminated its unfair Class 6 and 7 milk pricing programs under USMCA. These programs essentially allowed Canadian producers to undersell U.S.

Women’s March Wisconsin: Stop playing politics with sexual assault kit legislation

Madison, Wis. – Wisconsin saw what happened when one person – former Attorney General Brad Schimel – had the power to decide what to do with sexual assault test kits. He allowed thousands of untested kits to collect dust on shelves while survivors of sexual violence received no justice. Schimel began testing the kits only after his inaction was exposed. Assembly Bill 214 would prevent any future backlog of untested sexual assault kits. It would create a uniform process for handling sexual assault kits for testing and storage. This bipartisan bill is cosponsored by a majority of Assembly representatives. The same

Victor Berger in 1910 became the first member of Congress elected on the Socialist Party ticket. And
