U.S. Rep. Gallagher: Helps secure million dollar grant for telehealth services

GREEN BAY, WI — Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) today announced that he helped secure a grant of nearly $1 million to expand telehealth services in Northeast Wisconsin. The grant, which totals $996,281, was awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and allows St. Vincent and the HSHS System to purchase telehealth equipment and improve access to telehealth services, including opioid and substance abuse treatment and tele-stroke care. Bradley campaign: Justice Prevails for Officer Joseph Mensah

FRANKLIN, Wis. —  The Milwaukee District Attorney announced Wednesday that Wauwatosa Police Officer Joseph Mensah would not face criminal charges after defending himself and others by shooting Alvin Cole. Cole fled from police at Mayfair Mall and fired a 9-mm handgun at officers, before Mensah fired back. Police reports say Cole was found with 35 additional rounds of ammunition. Sen. Nass: Legislative committee to require DHS follow administrative rules law

Senator Steve Nass (R-Whitewater), Co-chairman of the Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules (JCRAR), announced today he will be requesting an executive session of the joint committee under Wisconsin Statute 227.26 (2) (b), to consider passage of a motion requiring the Department of Health Services (DHS) to promulgate an emergency administrative rule relating to the limits on public gatherings.  DHS would have to comply within 30-days of the joint committee’s action.   An emergency rule, under Chapter 227 of the Wisconsin Statutes, would be subject to the jurisdiction of JCRAR on its effective date.  JCRAR has the power to
