Madison, WI – On Friday, State Representative Cindi Duchow (R-Delafield) issued an open records request to the Department of Health Services for records used by Secretary Andrea Palm to warrant Emergency Order #28 and justify the extension of the ‘Safer-at-Home’ Order.

Rep. Duchow released the following statement regarding the issuance of the open records request:

“Governor Evers has largely kept the legislature in the dark on how he has been arriving at decisions throughout this entire pandemic. The governor ordered Secretary Andrea Palm to extend the emergency order that was set to expire April 24th for another 30 days, just days after the Department of Health Services announced that Wisconsin saw the lowest daily increase in new cases in weeks. The people of Wisconsin deserve to know what metrics are being used to justify keeping Wisconsin closed longer than many states that have had a more severe outbreak. I am looking forward to reviewing the records the Department of Health Services provides.”
