Today, the Supreme Court ruled that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 will include protections for LGBTQ individuals in the workplace. In response, Congresswoman Moore released the following statement:

“The civil rights of every individual must be reflected in our laws. I am thrilled that now during Pride Month, as we recognize the history of the LGBTQ community’s long, continuous fight for equality, our LGBTQ brothers and sisters will have protections against discrimination in the workplace. Pride Month becomes that much brighter for our country and a community who has endured decades of discrimination.

Let us all continue building upon these efforts by working to guarantee equality in health care and housing and continue standing against the Trump administration’s efforts to undermine the dignity, humanity, and rights of the LGBTQ community.”
