WCMA: Applauds $30 million investment in Wisconsin food pantries

MADISON, WI – The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) today praised Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers’ direction of an additional $30 million in federal funding to the state’s Food Security Initiative.  This program supports hunger relief efforts through the purchase of Wisconsin-made products, including milk, cheese, yogurt, and butter.  These monies more than double the $25 million Evers previously allocated to the Food Security Initiative. PSC: Awards more than $277 thousand in refueling readiness grants for 15 projects

MADISON – Today, the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC or Commission) announced awards for Wisconsin’s Refueling Readiness Grant Program. Wisconsin Woodchucks: Recipient of minor league sports grant

Wausau, WI — Governor Evers announced Tuesday that the Wisconsin Woodchucks are one of 17 recipients of a grant made available to minor league sports teams throughout Wisconsin as part of the Minor League Sports Grant that was announced last summer. The grants are funded by the American Rescue Plan of 2021. The Woodchucks 2020 season was operated at extremely low-capacity limits causing attendance to drop by 80%. The 2021 season was better, but still below pre-pandemic levels. Despite the large drop in revenues, the Woodchucks have continued to employ all full-time and summer staff; not one person was laid off.
