City of Racine – The City of Racine, AMI Health, and Health Care Network will partner again this Saturday to bring mobile pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics directly to neighborhoods. Clinics will be run out of the City’s Mobile Voting Unit (which looks like a big City branded RV) and canvassers will be knocking on doors to let residents know they can walk to a nearby corner in their neighborhood to get vaccinated.
This partnership saw success with this neighborhood-based approach to vaccinations last weekend in Common Council President John Tate II’s aldermanic district. The neighborhood locations for this weekend reside within Alderwoman Mollie Jones’ aldermanic district and she will join canvassers this Saturday in support of this effort.
The City’s mobile clinic vehicle will be parked on the corner of the following intersections for an hour at the following times this Saturday, November 6:
- 11:00am – 20th & Mead St
- Noon – De Koven Ave between Racine St and Mead St
- 1:00pm – 16th St & Villa St
- 2:00pm – 16th St & College Ave
- 3:00pm – Park Ave & 17th St
Residents in these neighborhoods will receive fliers at their door this week in advance of Saturday and canvassers will be knocking on doors on Saturday to encourage residents to get vaccinated.
I survived COVID and would not wish my experience on anyone. I know many of you still have questions and concerns about the vaccines. Perhaps you are just afraid of needles! Pre-COVID, I had questions and some concerns but after being hospitalized with COVID, I was happy to get vaccinated. The thought of being that sick again is frightening. So when you see us this weekend – ask questions, someone will hold your hand if needed, but please get vaccinated,” said Alderwoman Mollie Jones.
As a reminder, vaccines are FREE. No ID, health insurance, or appointments are needed. The FDA-approved Pfizer vaccine will be available, along with limited quantities of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Vaccines are available for individuals age 12+. City of Racine residents who get vaccinated are able to receive the City’s $50 gift card incentive and already-vaccinated City residents who bring unvaccinated City residents to get vaccinated will receive a $50 Good Neighbor gift card.
