MADISON – State Representative Mark Spreitzer (D – Beloit) released the following statement following the announcement from Rep. Gordon Hintz (D-Oshkosh) that he is stepping down as the Assembly Democratic Leader:
“I want to thank Gordon for his years of service and dedication to Assembly Democrats and the people of Wisconsin. For the last four years, his leadership has been instrumental as our caucus fought to represent our shared values.
“From standing up for Wisconsin taxpayers against the Foxconn catastrophe to working to keep people safe through the COVID-19 pandemic, Gordon has led our caucus through tremendously challenging times. Throughout the political turmoil, Gordon has been a clear voice for positive change, and his leadership has seen our caucus membership grow despite Republican gerrymandering.
“I am grateful for Gordon’s leadership, and look forward to continuing to work with him in the State Assembly.”
