[Milwaukee, WI…]  Brad Courtney, former Republican Party of Wisconsin (RPW) Chairman and Senior Advisor to Governor Scott Walker, today endorsed Fond du Lac District Attorney for attorney general.

Courtney said Eric Toney can defeat Josh Kaul, and help Republicans win a critical statewide office.

“Eric Toney is a tough prosecutor who’ll restore DOJ’s primary mission of fighting crime, work to make our streets and neighborhoods safer, and provide additional support to local law enforcement across Wisconsin.  Eric can and will defeat Josh Kaul, who’s pursued an extremist, liberal agenda that’s targeted parents, abandoned law enforcement, and gutted the number of criminal prosecutors at DOJ. Kaul’s been a miserable failure,” said Courtney.

Courtney twice served as RPW Chairman. He first served as Chairman between 2006-2007, and was elected to the post in 2011.  In 2010, he served as Senior Advisor for Gov. Scott Walker’s successful gubernatorial campaign.

Courtney added, “I’m endorsing Eric Toney for attorney general because he’s a prosecutor, not a politician.  He’s a strong conservative who’s pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, and an ardent defender of our personal freedoms and liberties.  He’s a Federalist who will adhere to the rule of law whether it’s popular or not.”

District Attorney Toney said he was honored to have the endorsement of one RPW’s most successful chairmen and longtime Party leader.

“Brad Courtney helped lead the conservative movement in Wisconsin for a generation including helping Governor Walker and Lt. Governor Kleefisch win recall elections.  Under his watch Republicans won statewide victories and expanded our majorities in the state Legislature, and the result was conservative policy initiatives that benefited Wisconsin families.  I’m honored to have his endorsement,” said District Attorney Toney.

Toney has a long history of conservative Republican politics having been a member of the St. Norbert College Republican Club, served as Co-Chair of the Hamline Law School Republican Club, interning for the Minnesota Senate Republican Caucus, and serving as a staff member for a Wisconsin Republican congressional campaign.  He has been elected three times as a Republican District Attorney for Fond du Lac County.

Toney has unparalleled support from law enforcement from across the state including more than 80 sheriffs, district attorneys and police chiefs as well as an unanimous endorsement from the Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police and the Milwaukee Police Association.
