KENOSHA — Today, Feb 25 at 1 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, Justin Blake and Kenosha community leaders will hold a press conference calling for transparency and community collaboration from Speaker Robin Vos’s racial disparities task force.

“We are calling on our legislators here in Wisconsin to work for freedom and justice for Black and Brown people, and by extension, all people”, said Tanya McLean, Executive Director and organizer with Leaders of Kenosha. “These meetings are about us, and they can’t happen without us.”

“We know Assembly Speaker Vos doesn’t want to hear from Black and brown constituents in his district– but what Speaker Vos wants doesn’t matter,” said Jonathan Jarmon, organizer with the Wisconsin Working Families Party. “What matters is that we work together to address the systemic racism and historic harms that have claimed the lives of too many Black and brown Wisconsinites. It’s time Black and brown activists in Kenosha and across the state have a seat at the table.”
