Lasry ads focus on wages, progressive values, voting rights

Dem U.S. Senate candidate Alex Lasry today announced a new statewide TV ad campaign. The seven-figure ad buy includes three separate ads airing on broadcast and cable television focusing on raising wages and growing American manufacturing, progressive values and voting rights. The narrator in one of the ads opens by slamming U.S. Sen. Milwaukee Ald. Zamarripa: Redistricting action ignores growth and breadth of Milwaukee’s Latino community

This redistricting process has been a difficult one for Milwaukee’s Latino community, and today’s vote by the Common Council to move forward with a map that does not provide a path to a third Latino majority aldermanic district only adds insult to injury. Words cannot convey my anger and disappointment regarding this decision. We’ve worked for many weeks with the Latino community to create a map that best represents Milwaukee’s fastest growing constituency. We debated and discussed options, but all with the same goal in mind: To provide the Latino community a proper seat at the table. And then our

Main Street Alliance: Expand Badgercare, don’t cut it to hurt workers and small biz

Main Street Alliance has this to say on the proposal by the WI Senate and Assembly Republicans on Workforce Development: “These ideas to punish workers by stripping them of unemployment insurance, healthcare and food for their families, including children, are deeply misguided. With the Wisconsin unemployment rate sitting at 3% and with major structural barriers for families, this is not the solution to our workforce challenges. Main Street Alliance and our small business members know that expanding Badgercare, making it easier for workers to increase hours as a result, investing in workforce development programs championed by Governor Evers and continuing public health efforts to

Rep. Neubauer: GOP bills don’t address Wisconsin’s real workforce challenges

MADISON – Today, Legislative Republicans introduced numerous bills that fall flat in their goal of fixing Wisconsin’s workforce challenges. In response, Rep. Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) released the following statement: “Today’s GOP package fails to address the real challenges Wisconsin’s workforce faces. Wisconsin’s unemployment rate is at a historic low, but instead of working to grow our workforce, Legislative Republicans are doubling down on efforts to undermine Wisconsin’s unemployment system and jeopardize the critical assistance that keeps individuals and families afloat. “Rather than focusing on programs that would actually help Wisconsinites, like Governor Evers’ Workforce Solutions Initiative, or increasing access to

Sen. Agard: Senator Agard responds to GOP workforce legislation

MADISON – Today, Wisconsin Legislative Republicans released a slate of legislation under the guise of creating a stronger workforce. Senator Melissa Agard (D-Madison) released the following statement: “Government works best when it is working for the betterment of its people – when it is working to uplift everyone. The bills introduced today by my GOP colleagues are doing the opposite. “These Republican bills do nothing to help increase access to the workforce or help more people

Now, reports show that Lasry received a max-out $2,900 contribution from Golden State Warriors minority owner Chamath Palihapitiya, who has come under fire for coldly commenting that “nobody cares” about China’s atrocious human rights abuses against the Uyghurs.
