Great Dane Pub & Brewing Co. running into supply chain issues in gearing up for Japan expansion

NorthStar announces new contract development and manufacturing business unit

NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes has broken ground on a new facility in Beloit that will house a planned contract development and manufacturing business unit.  The company yesterday announced the formation of the new “Radiopharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization,” or CDMO.  NorthStar develops and produces radiopharmaceutical products for therapeutic and medical imaging uses. According to a release, the new CDMO services unit will provide development and commercialization services for other collaborating businesses. It will also support the company’s own pharmaceutical production for treatment of cancer and other diseases.  CEO Steven Merrick says establishing this new unit “marks an important inflection point”

Milwaukee transportation sector ranked 38th among U.S. transportation CO2 emissions sources

Milwaukee’s transportation sector has been ranked 38th among U.S. transportation emissions sources for the amount of CO2 it produced in 2021.  That’s according to newly released data from the Climate TRACE, a nonprofit group supported by environmental advocates including former Vice President Al Gore. The organization has created a data tool that includes information from hundreds of satellites and thousands of sensors around the world.  The transportation rankings include both metropolitan areas and major airports in the list of the top 100 emissions sources.  Milwaukee’s system of roads produced about 3.9 metric tons of carbon dioxide in 2021, according to

Dept. of Justice: AG Kaul joins multistate effort urging DEA to extend telehealth capabilities for opioid use disorder treatment

MADISON, Wis. – Attorney General Josh Kaul is joining a coalition of 45 attorneys general to urge the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to permanently extend telehealth flexibilities for prescribing buprenorphine, an opioid use disorder treatment. Buprenorphine is one of three medications that is approved by the Food and Drug Administration to treat patients suffering from addiction. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the FDA allowed doctors to use telehealth services to prescribe the medication, but the rule allowing buprenorphine to be prescribed virtually is set to expire once the COVID-19 public health emergency
