MADISON, Wis. — Today, Milwaukee County Sheriff Denita Ball announced her endorsement of Governor Tony Evers’ re-election campaign:

“Governor Tony Evers has been an incredible partner to Milwaukee, making key investments to support public safety, schools, and economic development,” said Milwaukee County Sheriff Denita Ball. “As the new Sheriff of Milwaukee County, I know how important it is to have a governor who is committed to giving municipalities and first responders the resources we need. I know that Tony Evers will support law enforcement, firefighters, and EMS personnel, and I am proud to endorse his reelection.”

Gov. Evers knows that we must give our communities the tools they need to tackle challenges, including crime. Years of Republican-backed cuts are forcing our cities and towns to do more with less. Communities deserve the resources they need to solve problems, but Republicans are starving Wisconsin municipalities of resources by refusing to increase funding that communities use to fund police, firefighters, and first responders.

Gov. Evers is proud to be endorsed by Sheriff Ball, the first woman to become sheriff in Milwaukee County. Gov. Evers is committed to making sure that our communities are safe and given the opportunity to thrive — he recognizes that we need to connect the dots and look at the whole picture.
