Michels: “Republicans will never lose another election in Wisconsin after I’m elected governor.”
MADISON, Wis. — Today, Governor Tony Evers’ campaign launched a new ad highlighting Trump acolyte Tim Michels’ suggestion that he would tilt future elections in his party’s favor if he becomes governor. Just this week, Michels doubled down on his long record of undermining democracy by saying, “Republicans will never lose another election in Wisconsin after I’m elected governor.”
Gov. Evers has vetoed over a dozen bills that would have restricted voting. But Michels has suggested the 2020 election was stolen, refused to say whether he would accept the 2024 results, and promised to sign bills that would make it more difficult for Wisconsinites to vote. And now Michels is saying the quiet part out loud, admitting that he would undermine the will of voters to get the results he wants.
