MADISON, Wis. — State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski today proclaimed School Library Worker Day in Wisconsin to celebrate the hard work of the librarians and media specialists working in school libraries from Superior to Racine.

“School librarians have a big part in our children’s education. By ensuring equitable access to books and technology, they help expand new worlds for students and help them learn more about themselves and the world around them,” said Treasurer Godlewski. “Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, library workers were creative and worked hard to make sure students could continue to read, learn, and grow. Whether that was helping provide hotspots to address the digital divide or starting book-mobiles, they have never wavered in their dedication to their students. I am honored to have met many of these wonderful librarians and media specialists through my role as Chair of the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands, and I want to applaud them for their work!”
