Energy costs are too high. From heating your home to filling up your car, you are paying too much. Unfortunately, the Biden administration’s anti-energy policies have driven costs even higher. I am working to lower costs for you and your family with an all-of-the-above energy approach.

Here’s the problem I’m working to solve: The Biden administration’s anti-energy polices have included everything from killing the Keystone XL Pipeline to a $6.5 billion tax increase on natural gas that is used to heat your home. It is already too expensive to heat your home and fill up your tank. In fact, the average Wisconsin family is paying $235 more a month on energy bills.

Earlier this year, I helped pass the Lower Energy Costs Act to unleash domestic energy production and lift regulatory burdens for the construction of more energy infrastructure. The bill reduces our reliance on our adversaries like China and Russia because the more energy we produce, the less we need to import. The Lower Energy Costs Act also repeals that $6.5 billion tax implemented by President Biden that raised the cost for you to heat your home.

The alternative to this all-of-the-above approach is a path that has already been tried and failed. Last year, I voted against H.R. 7688. That was a vote against price controls reminiscent of those from the 1970s which led to shortages, rationing, and miles-long lines at the pump. This bill had bipartisan opposition, and for good reason. If it had ended up as law, we would be paying much more than what we are already paying for gas because history tells us that price controls lead to inflation.

This brings me to why I’m setting the record straight. Currently, the far left is attacking me for ending the Biden administration’s tax increase and for opposing legislation that would lead to massive gasoline supply shortages. This is far from the truth.

The bottom line is: I will continue to work to lower the cost to heat your home and bring down the price at the pump to make life more affordable. When you vote against big giveaways to corporations like I did, they come after you. However, attack ads will not deter me from working for you.
