Gov. Tony Evers announced he'll include $4.1 million in the budget he formally rolls out tonight to help health departments implement an EKG screening program for young athletes.
The pilot program will aid health departments in Waukesha and Milwaukee counties to implement a screening effort to help prevent cardiac-related health incidents in student athletes.
The effort is meant to build off a bill Evers signed last year that required the development and distribution of information on the nature and risks of sudden cardiac arrest.
