Dem Gov. Tony Evers tonight will issue a call for cooperation as he hands off his budget to the GOP-controlled state Legislature, telling lawmakers their work can’t be “hindered by partisanship.”
Republicans have balked at some of the proposals Evers has rolled out so far, including a call to increase taxes on manufacturers and investors. They’ve also knocked the guv for proposing $290 million in one-time state money to fund improvements at the Milwaukee Brewers’ stadium because he didn’t run the idea by them first before releasing it.
